Why we build on Google Cloud

For AI-adjacent workloads, we build on Google Cloud by preference. The reason is unspectacular: the data paths are short. What sits in BigQuery is one step away from Vertex AI — no export, no detour, no three systems that disagree with each other.

We build serverless wherever possible: Cloud Run instead of machines that someone has to start by hand each morning. Automation means to us that anything recurring belongs in a pipeline — versioned, observable, traceable.

"Cloud first" still means with judgement: we choose the service that solves the customer's problem, not the one with the loudest keynote. Sometimes that is a single line of BigQuery. Good architecture is recognisable by what it leaves out.
