Honest Locales, Quieter Navigation

Much of the last two days was subtraction. We removed the Forum entry from the main navigation and moved a Community Forum link to the footer, where it belongs. A navigation bar earns its weight by what it leaves out. Fewer choices, clearer intent.

The rest was about honesty. The locale switcher now carries an aria-label keyed to the actual target language, not a generic placeholder — a label should describe what a control does, not what is convenient to write. We covered it with an end-to-end test so the behaviour stays honest under change. In parallel, the blog index, tag pages, and prev/next links now only surface posts with genuine content in the current locale. An empty translation is not a translation, and we no longer pretend otherwise.

Smaller corrections carried the same principle. We raised amber text to WCAG AA contrast in five places, so the colour is legible rather than merely present. And in the Hautrein guide we clarified the distinction between Schnaps and Likör — precision in language is precision in the product. Each change is small. Together they remove a little dishonesty from the interface.
